Christina Guerra’s love of beauty and flair for the artistic showed itself at an early age while growing up in Hawaii. “I used to sneak into my mother’s makeup drawer and sit in the bathroom for hours applying her Estee Lauder lipsticks – my favorite was “Rich Red”, she recounts. Always a bookworm, she happened upon the classic Kevyn Aucoin beauty bible “The Art of Makeup” and begged her parents to purchase it for her at the age of 11. There began an obsession with makeup, hairstyling and beauty that still lives on.
A rock-n-roller since childhood, Christina always wanted to be in a band. “Unfortunately, I lacked the musical talent part,” she laughs. But the one talent that stood out from the beginning was her gift for makeup artistry. This ability was noticed even back in high school, where friends & neighbors lined up to have her do their makeup & hair before a night out. After a long stint working in the music industry, Christina attended the Makeup Designory in 2007 and has been working in the industry since. A versatile artist, Christina enjoys creating everything from the classic Californian “beachy” look all the way to the bruises, burns and cuts she learned from her time spent in one of L.A.’s top special effects makeup studios.
Since signing with Celestine Agency in 2010, Christina has had the incredible opportunity to work with some of the top publications in the world including ELLE, Glamour, Marie Claire, LUCKY, Shape, People, SELF, The Hollywood Reporter, Playboy, Revolver, and many more. Her friendly & easygoing demeanor paired with her passionate work ethic has made her a favorite on set and keeps her in high demand amongst clients.
When Christina isn’t traveling all over sunny California for shoots, she enjoys baking sweet treats for her friends and co-workers, seeing bands play at L.A.’s hottest clubs, and perusing her favorite fashion & beauty blogs for new inspiration.
